Apply for the EpicGenetics FM/a® Test for diagnosing fibromyalgia and you may also consent to undergo, at no additional fee, an FDA-authorized Covid-19 antibody blood test. This antibody test will be performed by the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago Department of Pathology on a blood sample acquired at the same time as your FM/a® Test sample.
Your participation will help medical researchers determine whether people with fibromyalgia, as documented with a positive FM/a® Test score, may be at a reduced risk for the life-threatening cytokine storm complications of a Covid-19 infection. This medical study is being conducted by EpicGenetics and the Department of Pathology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago.
Many researchers have documented the occurrence of life-threatening cytokine protein storms involving the IL-6 and IL-8 cytokines in severe and often fatal Covid-19 infections. FM/a® Test positive patients have a proven reduced capacity to produce both IL-6 and IL-8. This new study will help determine whether FM/a® Test positive fibromyalgia patients have a reduced risk for this serious Covid-19 infection complication.
